The Advocate
Whew, this is already better then the last card, The Addict. Because this is a “good” one. And it is. The advocate calls a beautiful form of nobility into our lives: We can provide mercy & grace, support & help and compassion & connection to others who need it, especially if they have less than we do. [Less money, less voice, less power, less experience, less skill, etc.] And seriously, America, we’re about to see if we have this nobility as a nation.
So this archetype also calls into light the shadow of our boundaries, our ethics and our greed. Do you advocate for yourself appropriately? or do you avoid or bully? Are you involved in causes (or groups, or religion, or potluck sign ups) because you enjoy giving and participating? Or are you obliged, coerced or unwilling to find something that more closely matches you? Are you using people or causes to get something? Like social power or hidden resources.
For me, this archetype is similar to one of my Life Archetypes, The Guide. A clue that this is running out of wack for me is when I feel like I have fix things for others. How does the Advocate inform your life?
Much love, Tabatha
